relieving the pain and stress of thousands.

Our therapies include:

Swedish Massage

Massage combines caring touch, which is healing and relaxing, with the mechanics of moving muscles, skin and connective tissue around to facilitate healing and help prevent disease.  Swedish Massage is a general name given to a variety of massage strokes, such as kneading, stroking, friction and percussion movements using oil applied to the body.

Some of the beneficial effects possible are improved circulation of blood and lymph, relief from muscle spasm, pain and soreness, improved utilization of nutrients, increased joint mobility and flexibility, faster recovery from muscle fatigue or injury, improved posture, and generally increased vitality and sense of well-being.

Medical Massage

Corrective massage is increasingly prescribed for dealing with many auto, on-the-job, and sports injuries as well as for a wide variety of other medical conditions.  Massage has proven to be a major aid in recovery from soft tissue damage and dysfunction.

We may be able to assist you with effective, quick treatment of problems after an auto accident or other injuries by getting you back on the job quickly, checking out your job-site to help prevent injuries and enhance productivity, helping you find long-term solutions for back, neck, or headache problems, or reducing low back pain during pregnancy.  We work very effectively with athletes, artists, dancers, musicians and their musculoskeletal problems to help enhance and improve their performance.

Myofascial Release Work (Deep Tissue)

Physical injury, imbalanced posture and movement habits, emotional tension and stress can all cause the body to be tense and rigid. Myofascial work uses deep, sensitive pressure to release chronic tension and adhesions stored in the connective tissue and muscles.  This work is very gradual in its depth and intensity to respect the needs of each client.

This release:

  • relieves pain
  • improves posture and movement patterns or habits
  • increases mental and physical awareness and performance

Jin Shin Do®

“Jin Shin Do” means “The Way of the Compassionate Spirit.” Jin Shin Do® Bodymind Acupressure® uses gentle yet deep finger pressure on specific acu-points and verbal Body Focusing techniques, to help release “armoring” or chronic tension, balance the “Qi” or energy, and improve vitality. This clothes-on method helps relieve stress- and trauma-related problems. A unique synthesis of a traditional Japanese acupressure technique, classic Chinese acutheory, Taoist philosophy, Qigong (breathing and exercise techniques), Reichian segmental theory and principles of Ericksonian psychotherapy, Jin Shin Do® acupressure was originated by Iona Marsaa Teeguarden.

Jin Shin Do® Bodymind Acupressure® is not intended for the diagnosis, treatment or cure of disease. It is a relaxation therapy, and a useful adjunct to licensed, qualified medical or psychological care. For any persistent pain or symptom, even a seemingly minor one, the reader is strongly encouraged to consult a medical doctor. When used in conjunction with standard medical treatment, the Jin Shin Do® Acupressure technique can assist the healing process by releasing tension, decreasing stress and encouraging a sense of increased well-being.
